Play GIRP on dance pads, two-player QWOP in Austin this weekend

XBox360 Fanboy - 8 hours 29 min ago

This is going to be really embarrassing, and potentially painful. This Sunday the Austin game collective, Juegos Rancheros, will host the Foddy Winter Olympics, featuring new and bizarre versions of Bennett Foddy's finger-twisting games.

You'll be able to face off against a friend in a race to the ground in two-player QWOP. You'll experience the climbing game GIRP turned into a Twister-like experience in Mega GIRP, a new version by Johann Sebastian Joust creator Doug Wilson that uses four dance pads for the controls. You'll also be frustrated by other Foddy creations, including Poleriders and Winner vs. Loser.

This is going to be the angriest party.

Logitech M600 mouse puts you more in touch with browsing for $69

Engadget - 9 hours 59 min ago
Is your current wireless mouse not up to snuff? If that's the case, you may want to take a gander at the Logitech Touch Mouse M600 that lets you do your navigating via a touch surface instead of those ol' clicky buttons. The peripheral is outfitted with the company's Flow Scroll software that touts a similar feel to scrolling on your touchscreen smartphone of choice. From wherever your fingers contact the top of the mouse, you can scroll and swipe in order to keep powering through those Photoshop files. The M600 works just as well for lefties once click areas are reconfigured with Logitech's SetPoint software. If you're thinking about taking the leap, look at the details in the PR below and get ready to shell out $69.99 later this month.

I could be "Mr Smarty-Pants" and exclaim the inclusion of Kathie Olivas as the 5th Artist Image to be revealed for the above silk-screen project - which has already teased the involvement of Brandt Peters, Doktor A, Chris Ryniak and Amanda Spayd - but yes, no one likes a smart-aleck (least of all me), so we wait with baited breathe for the reveal tomorrow on Circus Posterus! This line-up looks to

NeverDead DLC coming Feb. 21 with new playable character and modes

XBox360 Fanboy - 10 hours 29 min ago
Konami's making sure NeverDead lives up to its name with the first downloadable content pack, available on February 21. "NeverDead Expansion Pack Volume 1" will let you try a new playable character and play co-op challenges with pop star Nikki Summerfield. The pack will also let you visit an expanded version of the Asylum level, with three new challenges, including taking hold of "score zones," racing across the map through a series of traps and hazards, and a mode called Onslaught, in which you unlock the zone section-by-section by defeating enemies.

The expansion will also give segmented hero Bryce Boltzmann two new costumes to dress up in, and you can see some shots of the content in the gallery below. Our NeverDead review called Summerfield a "whiny pop singer," but hey, maybe spending a little more time with her will make you see her in a whole new light.

No discounted UMD transfers to Vita for US, angel loses its wings

Engadget - 10 hours 48 min ago
Hey, America ... no soup for you! Vita apparently means no discounted downloads of your beloved disc-based PSP games as Kotaku reports Sony won't be offering its "UMD Passport" service in the US. Since December, Sony has let existing Japanese PSP owners upgrade UMD games to Vita downloadable copies for around ¥500-1,000 ($6.50 - $13). Penny-pinching US gamers can perhaps console themselves with the fact that they can still get a discount for digital downloads of Vita games. Well, that or make hungry eyes for free at Vitas displayed in kiosks at select stores.

New Posters for Wrath of the Titans

TOYSREVIL'S I LIKE TOYS - 10 hours 59 min ago
I don't know about you folks, but certain movie posters, and I'll be looking at them thinking: "Gosh, that'll make a swell toy!" … and certain posters, I might be like; "Dude needs to trim his man'fro" … the above-right new poster-image for WRATH OF THE TITANS sits firmly on the fence for either, I suppose. Android 4.0.4 ROM leaks for Verizon's Galaxy Nexus

Engadget - 8 February, 2012 - 06:26
A little gem known as Android 4.0.4 wriggled its way onto the interweb last week, and while it was geared specifically for Sprint's Nexus S 4G, a similar version has just cropped up for the CDMA / LTE Galaxy Nexus from Verizon. While it's only available for tenacious users who've unlocked their bootloader, it seems that a host of improvements are on deck for the official release. First and foremost, the ROM is said to be noticeably faster, with the speed gains also extending to the web browser and the device's boot time. The release also packs a new radio file that (at least from user impressions) offers more seamless transitions between the CDMA and LTE networks. All in all, the rest of the changes are rather minor, but if you'd like to join the bleeding edge, you'll find everything you need in the source link below.

Taiwan Anime Event

Danny Choo - 8 February, 2012 - 06:06

The anime, cosplay and doujin event Fancy Frontier takes place 4 times a year. The large events are called Fancy Frontier (FF) and the smaller events are Petit Fancy (PF). FF 19 took place last weekend and comrades at Aniarc went along to take some photos for us.

Looked like a load of fun! I could not make it this time but plan to attend the next FF in July where I will be setting up a booth too. Will also be having Culture Japan Night Taiwan Summer Edition too.

And here is some video footage of the event.

Are you or have you been attending any anime events this year? If so which ones?
