Will the Real Delmorpha please stand up...
Normally the idea of playing a Second Life style game would be like the idea of wanting to play "Staple Gun my bollocks to the table and time how long it takes to get the staples out", but given its web browser version of a Life type game and that i's by Google, I figured I'd at least give Lively half a chance to prove it's worth.
What I've found is some cunt has already stolen my name! The fucking cheek of it too... it's not like Delmorpha is your run of the mill generic pseudonym.. somone actually has gone out of their way, whilst the program is still in Beta to steal my name. You read the blog, don't you, whoever you are... and when I find out who you are, prepare for Ping of Doom!
Anyway, one thing I like about Google is their continual innovation online so I figured this wold be a massive leap forward for Virtual World systems. I also like that they're not a bunch of arrogant cunts that fiddle their search results for cash, favours or their own benefit.
Googling "lively" proves this; could you imagine searching for a Yahoo! product in their site and it not being the top search result with thousands of tailor made adverts and product placements?? I think not! Google are confident that their search algorithms will automatically place Lively at the top in its own time and I like that philosophy.
Continuing with Lively, what I wanted to create was a gin drinking, foul mouthed, tramp like character, with all the airs and graces of a pubic louse, and all the charm of a Cockney Pick Pocket. What I ended up with was a rather bland, generic looking Chibi characterisation of myself that, given the limited amount of choice was unsurprising but ended up looking like every other person in the world.
And yes, thats a fucking 3 in my name... MY NAME!
Within moments I was presented with the usual swearing and retardation found in chatrooms the world over. It won't be long before paedophiles from around the globe will be creating cute, digital tween characters to prey on your children...
I soon got bored and tried to close it down, which ended up having to be done forcefully. Task Manager showed the application taking up a whopping 180Mb of RAM and most of my CPU runtime. Given the limited modelling and bland texture characterisation I had to wonder what the fuck it was doing in the background, given my laptop will happily chug through Dream of Mirror at a steady framerate... if this wasn't a Google product, I'dve been more suspicious.......

Interesting
I get it all the time but there's no surprise. Do you not fill up the whole of your google 1st page?
Kind regards
